Ladies Who "Birthday" Lunch...

My girlfriend Mademoiselle "A" ...

decided to throw a ladies-only birthday soiree for one of her "besties" and business partner...
Mademoiselle "T"...

It was a "significant" birthday and so she decided to make it special...here is a great lesson on how to have 35+ women in your home for a sit down lunch...making all your spaces work conveniently...and lovely...room to room...to accommodate all....

Fresh hydrangeas and a colorful combination of pink and dark green fabrics made for stunning tables...

Adding the "pop" with fun colorful paper place mats made everything so festive!

Room to room the table decor was kept the same...although Mademoiselle "A" keenly coordinated the water bottles with the glassware available for each table...details, details, details...NICE!

Using clear dishes really made the place mats stand out on one table...I am so in love with these place mats I gave them as a gift this Summer as well. They are available at

The refreshing and delicious chilled gazpacho was such a fun and graphic design feature as well as a stunning starter...on an emptied space next to the family room...

The buffet was casually but delightfully set up on the kitchen island...central to all the dining spaces...the flow worked really well...

All the food was so colorful as well as YUMMY!!

Salmon....

A family recipe of curried chicken salad with pineapple was amazing...I need to hunt that recipe down!

My girlfriend Mademoiselle "D" made her wonderful falafel salad....

Don't you love a beautifully presented salad?

and now for the desserts....a sampling...

a homemade carrot birthday cake by a talented guest was delicious...and beautifully presented....

Mademoiselle "T" added a nice touch with lovely gifts for each guest at their place setting....

On a hot Summer day it was so nice to spend time celebrating a milestone with girlfriends who have the same "joie de vivre" that I do...there were laughs, tears...and wonderful toasts...all the great things life is about!
