B & V gets a facelift!

 

My partner Mademoiselle "M" and I decided recently to refresh our "little store" at a local antique and home furnishings market. We hung a really fun piece of fabric on the wall and brought in some new goodies and removed some others....

 

 

our wall spaces looked like this last year...

many of these items have sold so we have added new merchandise...

these pretty Limoges dessert dishes (set of 6) are a recent addition...

as is this fabulous ice bucket with festive tumblers...I can see this being a stunner on a holiday bar...can't you?

Hopefully sales will be strong in the months ahead as many of us "decorating types" tend to go on the hunt this time of year!

 

I think the new fabric on the walls really helps set us apart from the other vendors in the building...it puts a little pizazz into the space too!

 

Let's hope the customers that wander by notice too...hope you're having a great weekend!

Our First Flea Market as Merchants!

This past Sunday my business partner and I decided to jump into our first flea market with some of our merchandise...it was a HOT one (pun intended)! The temps soared but the crowd was a good one...we enjoyed people watching and selling our wares and besides it is always fun spending some quality "girl time" with a bestie! 

  

  

We went to the local farmer's market to get flowers for our booth...we both like "the pretty" even in a parking lot! LOL

 

  

  

It was interesting to be on the "other side of the fence" this time as vendors..usually we are the customers!

Friends stopped by to wish us well and do a little shopping!

 All in all a really fun day and we think we will make this a regular thing and see how it goes!

Stylish Finds...

 As I have mentioned in previous posts...my girlfriend and I have turned our love for treasure hunting into a little business...things are rolling along quite nicely. Here are a few of the latest items that we have up for sale. If anyone is in the Chicago area this weekend let me know...we will be selling these items and more at a local outdoor market....

These chairs were in sad condition when we found them (just picture ugly wood and hunter green fabric...I wish I had thought to take the before photo but we were too excited to get busy...) and they were just screaming for a make-over! Now I can hardly part with them...

These lucite napkin holders are such a wonderful idea especially for outdoor entertaining...and don't you just love a gold tray...any size and shape...I can always make them work!

I am just in love with this object d' Art!

These are just fabulous bookends in any space!

We both love colorful glassware...they add such panache to any setting...silver trays are a standard too...

This lucite holder has such possibilities...

We love combining elements to create an interesting vignette...

so pretty...

I am crazy for brass and elephants so this little guy was a no brainer...

What a stylish way to serve a fresh Summer cocktail...

This tall brass pitcher looks so great with a casual collection of Summer blooms...

This light fixture is very large...at least 4ft across. It is just magnificent...we have so many ideas for it's use...I am sure you all can imagine it too...it just takes the perfect spot!

We love pops of color...combined with neutrals in brass and silver for a little contrast. This silver pitcher and tray cool the blue and pink...LOVE!

Treasure Hunting Season is in Full "Spring"!

There is nothing that says "Spring" more than the advent of outdoor flea markets and antique fairs...There is almost nothing I enjoy more than getting up with the birds and heading to the country for a good treasure hunt! On our latest foray....my partner Mademoiselle M and I found some wonderful new items for our little shop...here's a few of the items we collected....

I did a little touch up on this wonderful gem...

and styled it like this...it is all I can do to sell it....that is the hardest part...the discipline to part with fabulous finds! I will admit sometimes I just can't do it...lol

We loved this wonderful stool....

We painted our booth space lavender for Spring and Summer to make the space feel fresh and so that our items "pop"...so far so good...items are flying off the shelves...

which is great because that means we have to hit the road again....NIRVANA! Happy Wednesday!!
