Driveways that Deliver and Doors that Beckon!

I love unusual driveway design...and I have to say on my recent trip to Charleston, South Carolina I saw a number of wonderfully creative solutions to the standard fare....

Here is one of my ultimate faves....

This one offered an elegant driveway and garage...with a great balcony as well...

Simple but lovely....

and who can resist a great cobblestone street...except my car and high heels...not so good on either!

I have a fixation with doors and no matter where I am I like to collect images of doors I find interesting and beautiful...here are a few that caught my eye in Charleston...

I love a classic like this...don't you?

Happy Wednesday!

Door Stop!

More door love...I am completely inspired by fabulous doors...they can STOP me in my tracks when I am out and about...one of my many visual obsessions...here are a few of my recent faves...

and any door that leads to this view is just about as good as it gets in my opinion.....

Door Belle!

(Merci':Pinterest)

....most of the country knows this fact all too well....I have had a busy week out in the elements...a big trade show was in town and I had almost fifty clients to see in three days...so no time for blogging until today!

What I have been looking at lately are Winter "doorscapes"...that don't ring "holiday" but look warm and inviting and interesting all through the cold months. There is nothing like an elegant entry...to set the stage for a wonderful visit. Here is one of my favorite examples...I LOVE where they placed the address numbers as well...do you?

Here is another interesting take on front entry design from neighbor a few streets away...I must say I like her fresh take on door color too!

I have a bunch of boxwood and other greens left over from the BH&G visit so I am going to do something with them this weekend when it warms up a bit! Happy Thursday...Good to be back!

One of my favorite blue "door and window" pictures! Taken years ago in the first playhouse we built for our daughter as she sits outside with her friend Charlotte ready to tend to her garden!
