My Holiday Hearth!

When I begin decorating for the holidays I often start with the fireplace and mantle in our living room...it sets the stage for the holiday design each year...whatever inspires me there usually carries through the rest of my spaces...this year I used the presents we placed under the tree last year as the main focus for the fireplace this year...the candles that were also on a gold Moroccan tray in our family room became the "glow" for the fireplace this year....

Here's a quick photo album....

a few Mardi Gras beads seemed like kitschy fun..

I am crazy for white fresh cut amaryllis...difficult to find and rather expensive...but an essential part of my floral designs...the nice thing is that the blooms can last up to two weeks...

I also love hot pink carnations in little gold vases...

at night...photographs don't really capture the fabulous glowy festiveness....

Have a fab Friday and a festive weekend! I will feature more of my decorated spaces in the days to come...stay tuned!

  1. I have to say I have never cared for carnations. Until today ... they look beautiful in your little vases ... the color is spot on!! Happy Weekend! xo

    1. Thanks Kim- I think white carnations in little vases look just as fab too! Those are the only colors in carnations that work for me...because typically I would have agreed with you on the carnation front. The other plus about carnations is that they last at least two weeks..so a lot of bang for your buck! Have a great weekend!
