Party Planning...

My lovely daughter will be turning 16 next month and we are in the throes of planning a "Sweet 16" birthday party to celebrate!

                                                                       flies....

We LOVE going to TEA! We have spent a lot of time together... attending tea parties, throwing tea parties...so it seems only fitting that somehow a TEA PARTY be part of this celebration.

My daughter also loves make-up! It's her passion obsession so we thought we have to work that element in too...SO...we decided to do a tea for about 80 young ladies at a local art gallery on a Sunday afternoon.

It's getting to be crunch time so I thought I would share some of the inspirations that are brewing in our collective heads as we dive into planning...

First...the cake...we want to embrace the make-up theme so the cake will have elements inspired by cakes like these...

The treats will also be inspired by her love of all things make-up!

25 years ago I used to work at Henri Bendel and we both love how they embrace stripes in their décor and packaging! We are definitely bringing stripes into the décor of this party! We've decided that black and white with fuchsia pink is the color combo for the festivities...

I am really looking forward to designing  the food table... so many ideas are swirling in my head...time to edit...

We are adding some bold graphic punch to the all-white gallery walls too...

I am having the food catered...creative tea sandwiches are a must!

I will keep you posted on all the developments...the best part about this is that the party is something we are doing together...all the planning, buying, invitation making etc. etc. has been a joint effort! Completely worth the time and investment!

Have a great weekend! XO

Emily
