Fluffing the Nest...Part Two!

As I mentioned in my previous post...when the weather turns colder I am all about my inside spaces....what works for me now? what doesn't?

I like to change things up all the time...it brings me " joie de vivre"....I think those who are bitten by the same bug can relate...others think I am simply mad!... lol...

Since I decided to change the living room up...and use pieces from other rooms (click here)...of course that meant things in the family room had to change too...

Here is the BEFORE... I loved this antique door coffee table that I made a year ago out of an old door and stone columns...

but I swapped it out for the coffee table that used to reside in my living room...

I added different accessories....and a sheepskin rug for warmth that also adds a bit more texture on top of the sea grass rug...

I also pulled the chairs out from the corners of the room...

They used to be tucked in each corner to make room for the fabulous but LARGE coffee table!

BEFORE...

AFTER...

I think the new space is much cozier and that is a good thing for the colder months ahead!

I also did a little update in my master bedroom...as you may have guessed by now I like layers in design. I bought two of these prints because the frame size and gold patina were perfect as an interesting layer behind matching bedside lamps. However I never liked the print that much...SO

I went to Paper Source and purchased a fun gold chevron fine paper and matted it in the frame... I like it SOOO much better! Someday I might find an etching or an artist's work that will work even better but in the meantime this will do the trick!

These little changes make me so happy...I am really at heart a simple girl!

XO Emily
