Heads Up!

Recently I was asked to design a dinner event for the opening night of an Art program at our local high school. The budget proved challenging as were the surroundings...the event had to take place in one of the rooms at the school for 110+ ....which from an aesthetic point meant no dimming the lighting and utilitarian chairs....ouch! I am a lady who likes a challenge and a "good cause" so I was game...
After picking a space that seemed the most suitable from the choices available...the Commons area with an Art Gallery in the rear of the room was the clear winner...I got to work on inspiration for the centerpieces...I wanted to combine something Art related and I liked the idea of using flowers in the composition but with a fun twist...

I searched the internet for fiberglass mannequin heads and found these...and placed them on top of clear acrylic boxes...

which then became fun living works of Art with the help of a very talented and gracious local florist...who took my ideas and ran with them!

This is what the room looked like as we began to set up...

I loved that each table had it's own personality...

Then...because I had another idea for these wonderful pieces of Art I brought them to my girlfriends new store...and styled them with their merchandise....

 including earrings...

a scarf and jewelry....

                              a wooden beaded necklace....

and a really fun installation at the front of the store highlighting some new chunky colorful necklaces...

I love when lovely creations can be re-purposed and work in a myriad of ways....
